The Best CV Template for 2025

Stay ahead of the competition and all those nasty ATS screening bots with the swiss knife of all CV templates

One of the most asked questions I have had in the last year is
“Sifat, how do I actually write my CV?”

Well, the truth is there are infinite ways that you can write your CV.

You can make it flashy with cool colors and fonts or keep it basic.

You could add pictures and long career objective statements or leave them out.

But what you should be thinking about is,
“what would actually help me score that interview?”

For this, the only two things that you need to optimize your CV for are:-

  • Make it easy to for the recruiter read and follow

Recruiters spend 5 seconds on average on a CV, and if they can’t find what they need to qualify you for the next round, you’re done!

  • Make it easy for ATS parsers to find key pieces of info

Every time you apply for a new role, it is high likely that first screening of the CV will be done by an ATS (Application Tracking Software). Thus, the CV must be formatted in a way that all the key information can easily picked up by the software

and with those in mind…
Here is my simple, easy to use CV format:-

“But this doesn’t even look that good!”

Plot twist, It doesn’t have to.

Remember: Your CV needs to be effective, it doesn’t necessarily need to look fancy.

A few more notes you should read:-

  1. Only add a career or personal summary at the top if you feel like it adds value to the application that you will be using this CV for

  2. In my world, we use the terms CV and Resume interchangeably. Remember: This is not an academic CV, this is designed to get you your dream job.

  3. No need to add a photo, if you really want to show your pretty face and the recruiter wants to know what you look like, link your LinkedIn correctly at the top.
